O-1 Visa Known As The "Artist" Visa

Usually known as the "Artist" visa, O-1 is actually much more inclusive than you think. If you are accomplished and well-respected in your field, you likely qualify.

An O-1 Visa is designed to allow foreigners at the very top of their field of work in the arts, motion picture, or television industries. If you have a U.S. company that needs to bring someone with extraordinary ability into the United States for work, an O-1 visa is an excellent option.

If you have received a major award in your field, such as an Oscar-equivalent award in your field, you already meet the criteria and will qualify. If not, don't worry. There is another way. You will have to meet 3 out of the 7 categories below.

If you have previously or will in the future perform in a leading role in acclaimed campaigns, films, plays, or other production events, then you meet this criterion.
2. Prestigious Organization
​
If you have performed, or will perform, in a critical or essential role for organizations with a distinguished reputation, you meet this criterion.
3. Critical Reviews
​
If you have critical reviews or other materials regarding your ability published in journals or trade publications, then you meet this criterion.
4. Media
​
If you've received coverage in major media, you meet this criterion. High reach, likes, or engagement on your posts, or a large following on your account, also qualifies.
5. Reputation
​
If you can get evidence about your reputation like testimonials & letters of recommendation from experts, critics, and organizations, then you meet this criterion.
6. High Income
​
If you have a significantly high salary or pay-per-campaign, then this category is for you.
7. Other
​
This is your chance to add anything else that strengthens your case. Are you passionate about a subject? Do you have a related education? Have you won any awards? Are a member of any associations?
